Division: Redhill West & Meadvale
I have been one of the elected Councillors for the Redhill West Ward since 2000, since then I have worked hard to represent the ward residents. In May 2013 I was also elected to Surrey County Council, representing Redhill West & Meadvale.
Since being on the Council, I have served on a number of Committees, most recently on the Council's Executive, I have overseen the Council's regeneration plans in the Borough, as Chairman of the Regeneration Forum, this has included the refurbishment of Doynings Leisure Centre and The Harlequin, the delivery of the Station Road new open space, targeting and cleaning up "grot spots" in the centre of Redhill, plus regeneration projects in Merstham, Redhill and the North of the Borough. I have also overseen the continued regeneration of Horley and the delivery of the new leisure centre on time and under budget.
Within the Ward and as a member of the planning committee, I have worked with Cllrs Julian Ellacott and David Pay to fight off many unacceptable planning developments and proposals which have been submitted, principally unacceptable mobile phone mast developments and the cramming of houses into small spaces and back gardens.
Professionally, my husband and I have our own small business located in Cage Yard, Reigate and we live in Redhill. Apart from work and being a Councillor, I spend any spare time clay shooting, playing golf badly and spending time with my family and young grandson.
