Surrey County Council Conservatives are continuing to invest in Surrey's roads and our Highways team continue to work hard to tackle the number of potholes across the network.

In response to these issues exacerbated by the recent weather, we have:

Repaired 14,135 potholes since January, of which 555 have been large patch repairs

Significantly increased the numbers of gangs (100-200% over business-as-usual levels) to carry out repairs

Allocated extra resources for our roads months ago. This Conservative administration will be spending more on road maintenance this year, next year and every year going forward

Provided each Surrey County Councillor with a £100k capital budget p/a to spend on local highway issues. This Conservative-led initiative ensures greater control over highways related matters sits with local elected representatives

Continued to deliver the remaining resurfacing schemes for 2022/23 & preparing for next year's planned maintenance schemes so they are ready to go in April. The programme next year will see 250 planned road schemes delivered across Surrey which will be in addition to the capital patching schemes.
