At the Surrey County Council Cabinet meeting yesterday, this administration announced:
- Increased and more flexible access to Surrey libraries
- Delivering more school places for children with special educational needs & disabilities, helping to ensure no one is left behind
- Ensuring bus services continue to run and continued investment in bus travel, including £32.3m for zero and low emission buses, £6.3m in Community Transport, £9m for bus priority measures to help buses arrive on time and a further £1.4m to improve the real time passenger information system
- Funding to construct a new hydrotherapy pool at Philip Southcote School, Weybridge, all children in Surrey deserve the best start in life
- Plans to provide affordable extra care housing in Banstead, enabling older people to live independently for longer
- Continued work with central government to ensure adult social care reforms are deliverable and benefit all our residents
- A repurposed Fire Station to provide a vibrant community facility allowing residents to connect, socialise & learn in one building
