As part of our continued efforts to restore normal services to residents, we will be re-opening Caterham and Cranleigh community recycling centres in early July. Caterham CRC will be opening from Friday 3 July for residents to bring black bag waste and green waste only. Cranleigh CRC will be opening from Saturday 4 July for residents to bring green waste only.
Natalie Bramhall, Cabinet Member for Environment and Countryside said, “We thank residents for their patience over the last few months and we are delighted our essential waste services are gradually returning to normal.”
Both sites will open for their standard operating days and hours which are Friday to Wednesday for Caterham (closed Mondays and Tuesdays) and Saturday to Monday for Cranleigh (closed Tuesdays to Fridays), opening at 8am and closing at 4pm each day.
The limited number of waste materials accepted at these smaller sites will allow residents to dispose of the largest volume waste types, while maintaining social distancing for the safety of residents and site staff. Residents who need to dispose of other types of waste will need to go to one of the 10 larger sites that are currently accepting more types of waste. More information is available on our website.
We are expecting to be able to open the last three remaining CRCs, which are Dorking, Warlingham and Bagshot, in early August and will confirm the details nearer the time.
